What is included in an Uttarakhand tour package?

An Uttarakhand tour package from Delhi includes a private vehicle with driver for the whole route, with pickup and drop in Delhi NCR. Day-wise sightseeing is planned around the places you choose, and hotels can be arranged on request.

Toll, parking and state tax are typically charged as per actual unless the quote says otherwise. We assist with permit paperwork where required. Meals, entry tickets and personal expenses are generally paid by you directly, and your quote will state exactly what is covered.

Which places can be combined in one trip?

Most travellers combine two clusters: the foothill towns of Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar and Rishikesh, and the Kumaon side of Nainital and Jim Corbett. Doing both in one trip needs about 6 to 7 days.

If you want only the pilgrimage towns, our Delhi to Haridwar Tempo Traveller page explains that route, and the Nainital and Jim Corbett package covers the Kumaon side in detail. We can also add a short Rishikesh stop for river views and evening aarti.

How many days do you need for Uttarakhand?

Five days is enough for a focused trip, and seven days gives a relaxed pace. A 5 day plan can cover Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussoorie and Dehradun, while 7 days lets you add Nainital and a wildlife stop at Corbett.

Mountain roads take longer than the distance suggests, and traffic near weekends and festival days can add hours. We suggest limiting daily driving to what elders and children can enjoy, and we plan rest stops accordingly.

What is the best time to visit Uttarakhand?

The most comfortable months are generally March to June and September to November. Summer is pleasant in the hills, while winter is cold and can bring fog on the plains and snow at higher places.

Monsoon brings green views but also landslide risks on hill roads, so plans need extra flexibility. Jim Corbett has its own seasonal rules for safaris, which we help you check before you travel. Please book early for long weekends and school holidays.

Suggested itinerary

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar and Rishikesh
Drive from Delhi NCR towards Haridwar (approx. 5 to 6 hours) and visit the ghats. Continue to Rishikesh for the evening by the river.
  2. Day 2: Rishikesh to Dehradun and Mussoorie
Spend the morning in Rishikesh, then drive to Dehradun and up to Mussoorie. Evening walk on the Mall Road area.
  3. Day 3: Mussoorie sightseeing
Visit local viewpoints and waterfalls at an easy pace. Plenty of free time for shopping and tea stops.
  4. Day 4: Mussoorie to Nainital side
Long drive towards Kumaon through hill towns and plains. Timing depends on traffic and road conditions, so we start early.
  5. Day 5: Nainital sightseeing
Enjoy the lake area, viewpoints and local market. Boating and other activities are paid directly on the spot.
  6. Day 6: Nainital to Jim Corbett
Drive towards the Corbett area and settle in. Safari entry is subject to booking, zone and season, so we advise planning early.
  7. Day 7: Corbett to Delhi
Return to Delhi NCR in one day with comfort breaks, reaching by evening or night depending on traffic.

Itineraries are customised to your dates and group. Distances and timings are approximate and change with traffic, weather and road conditions.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can we do Uttarakhand in 5 days from Delhi?

Yes, a 5 day trip can cover Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussoorie and Dehradun comfortably. Adding Nainital and Jim Corbett needs closer to 7 days, otherwise the driving becomes tiring. We will suggest a pace that matches your group.

Which vehicle is suitable for Uttarakhand hill roads?

A Tempo Traveller works well for groups and joint families, and an Ertiga or Innova suits smaller families. Drivers experienced in hill roads are important. Confirm seat layout and luggage space at booking, especially for larger families.

Is Jim Corbett safari included?

Safari entry is not assumed unless your quote says so. It depends on zone, timing and availability and is usually booked separately. We can guide you on the process, and we recommend planning ahead for peak months.

Can we visit Haridwar and Rishikesh only?

Yes. Many families choose a 2 to 3 day plan with just Haridwar and Rishikesh, which also works as a weekend trip. Tell us your dates and group size, and we will plan the stops and timings.

Are hotels arranged by Gautam Tour Travels?

Hotels are arranged on request only. You can choose that option or use your own stays. Either way, the vehicle, driver and daily route are planned in advance so each day's travel time is realistic.

Is Uttarakhand safe to travel in monsoon?

Monsoon can bring landslides, road blocks and delays on hill roads. Many travellers prefer to avoid this season for long routes. If you must travel, keep extra days and check the road situation with us before leaving.
